Pride At Work Canada

How to Take Action

Pride at Work is a professional organization created to support the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community in Canadian workplaces.

Vision Statement

To realize fully inclusive workplaces for LGBT employees across Canada.

Guiding Principle

We are guided by the principle of full accessibility for everyone and we reflect the communities in which we live and work.

Mission Statement

The mission of Pride at Work is to support the work of LGBT Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), HR Professionals, Diversity specialists, and allies, to effect positive change for LGBT employees in the workplace. The Governing Council accomplishes this by conceptualizing, planning, organizing and facilitating both large and small-scale programs which provide networking and educational opportunities on critical issues facing the LGBT workplace community.

Objectives

The objectives of Pride at Work are to:

  • enable the exchange of information between LGBT ERGs and their employers to promote workplace environments of inclusiveness and diversity
  • allow access to a network of professionals to organizations and/or employees who want to establish or promote an LGBT ERG
  • allow access to a network of professionals to organizations that want to develop LGBT policies around inclusiveness in the workplace
  • allow access to a network of HR professionals who can consult on LGBT issues in the workplace
  • create and maintain a knowledge repository to be shared between member organizations and affiliates
liaise with the larger LGBT community to look for opportunities to provide positive influence
